Consideration Poems

We have been writing poems linked to our social skills focus on Consideration using Cameo Writing as our motivation. Tell us what you think!

Loser Team

If I ever get to choose
I will choose the losers and prove
They can’t do anything.

And they will find they are as
Bad as everyone says when
I show them.

And I’ll choose Oliver, who will die
With surprise and I’ll have to choose
Someone else.

So I’ll pick Jack who everyone says
Has just learned to walk.

And the rest of the guys that Mr Miller
Calls “Dead-legs” but only need their chance
To show what they’re made of – jelly.

And throughout the games we play,
They will feel worse and worse about
Themselves.

And even if we lose every game,
At least they’ll find I was right,
And they were wrong.

Respect

It doesn’t matter if you’re unemployed
Only partially humanoid
Even if you cant at all
All you really need to do is respect

It doesn’t matter if you’re special needs
Maimed or lame or born in Leeds.
Even if you can’t count at all
All you need to do is respect

It Hurts

It hurts
When people call me names,
Or threaten me to do something bad,

When I fall out of a tree in our backyard,
Or to trip up on a small stone,

When people tease you in a bad way,
Or tell something personal about you,
That you don’t want to be told.

That’s when I feel hurt!

Written by Clancy

Team Evil

My team will have all the people
In it that are normally picked
First.

Such as me.

When it is my turn to be chooser
I will clone myself and pick me.

I’ll discard Sean and Robin and
Jim and the rest of the
Guys that Mr Spiller calls, “Dead-legs”
Which they are.

I’ll play in the final cup
In front of the Universe,
And due to the masterly
Leadership of me

I’ll win.

Questions

Are we friends?
Or are we foe?
Questions ask that we’ll never know.

Is there peace?
Or is there war?
Questions that are answered no more.

Do we trust?
Or do we spy?
Questions what we all deny.

Do we have hope?
Or do we disappear?
Questions we have always feared?

Does it all come down
To truth, trust and respect?
Or is there more we should all expect?

Respect

Respect each sunset
Respect each nightfall
The world is very delightful.

Respect each bang
Respect each boom!
And you’ll see the world fast like a zoom.

Respect each tree
Respect each plant
Everyone will be happy and do a crazy dance.

Respect

Respect all objects,
Even ones you don’t like.
So no one ever feels bad,
Peer or opponent.
Each and everyone deserve the same.
Come out, Respect!
Toss out your respect,

All that you have,

Respect at all costs
Every single atom needs a truckload of respect,
Simple things, too, need a complex friendship
Peaks of mountains need climbers who give a lot of respect.
Everlasting is the best kind, the only kind,
Cover up your hatred.
Thunderstorms, mosquitoes, all the things we hate,

But they need our respect,
And our respect will never die.

It Hurts

It hurts when someone teases
Me about the clothes I wear
Or when someone calls
Me names because of the
Way I tie my hair.

It hurts when someone says
That I can’t be their friend
Because I don’t like playing
With other friends.

It hurts when someone laughs
At me, because I’m bad at
Netball, or when someone teases
Me about my name, just because
It’s not the same.

I feel like I shouldn’t
Play or tie my up any
Way.

Respect

Respect each human and everything.

Everything and everyone is the same within.

Sleep at night, don’t wake up anybody.

People would like you much better if you respect them.

Each and everyone can make a difference by respecting.

Can you just make on tiny difference in your life?

The feeling of being respected or respecting is nice.

Coming to School

When I come to school each day I wonder about people will do, say and think about.

I wonder if I will have a good day or a bad day and what we will do throughout the day.

I think about what I am going to say to people and if I can do the work I am given to do.

I wonder if my friends will be at school and what they will say to me.

I wonder if people will say nice things about me and if I get sad, they respect me.

I wonder if I do things wrong or things I thought were wrong were right.

I wonder what I will learn and if I learn something new.

I wonder if I will get done what I want to get done in the amount of time I am given.

Respect

I respect my friends
I respect all other families
I respect night and day
Respect plants and pets.

Written by Dima

It Hurts

It hurts when someone calls you bad names
About what I eat and what I don’t eat.

It hurts when someone makes fun of you
With your clothes or skin.

It hurts if you do a mistake and everyone bursts out laughing
Or you make up something.

It hurts to break something that you didn’t meant to do
And other people fuss over it.

It hurts if someone laughs about where you live.
Ignore them says my family
But its hard to turn the other cheek.

Friends

Friends are special in every way possible.
Friends are loving people
They are caring and awesome
So take care of them.

Friends are loyal and considerate.
They respect you for who you are
So be kind and pleasant to them
And they’ll be your friends forever.

Friends are magnificent
Friends are superb
Make sure you don’t hurt them
Cause you might lose them!

Friendship

Friendship is strong
Friendship is powerful
To me, friendship means everything in the world!

Friendship can be good
Friendship can be hurtful
Friendship is the best thing whether it’s bad or good.

Friendship means loyalty
Friendship means fighting
Friendship is good whether you fight or you are kind!

Written by Lydie

Love

Love the world
Love the sea
And you’ll be as free as you can be.

Love the trees
Love the grass,
And you’ll see the world’s very vast.

Love your friends,
Love yourself,
You’ll see the world so beautiful, you can tell.

Love the sky,
Love the clouds
And you will feel very proud.

Love the animals
And love nature,
And then you might see life’s true big picture.

Respect

Respect is just a thing of life an everyday thing that we need to do.

Everyone I know, knows that, so do you?

Simple things in life like respect can get you a long way.

People should think about it before they say or do

Even when you’re feeling down, just keep it to you.

Colour doesn’t matter because you’re still both human

Think about your actions and they might do the same to you.

In My Team

In my team
I will pick my friends
And Jacob
Who cant kick a ball.

Amy and Luke
And lots of other players
The last two players are
Malcolm and ‘Fast-feet’

I pick Malcolm.

We start to play
Incredibly it was a tie
But it wasn’t over.
Ten seconds left…
They have the ball.

Amy steals it
She shoots.
She scores
We won 15 – 14
With one second to spare
What a spectacular finish.

In My Team

In my team,
I will have everybody I can get,
It will have the people who are picked first and Last.

We will travel around the world,
We will lose some and win lots of games.

We will play on Mars and Pluto.

We will have players like,
Joe who has a broken leg,
And is always picked last.

And John,
Who can jump 5 feet in the air,
And is always picked third.

And we will have Dave,
He is just an ordinary player,
And is picked most of the time,
Thirtieth.

And other players
Like the players other teams
Call, “Suckers”,
And the ones people fight over,

We will win!

Written by Benjamin

Respect

Treat others the way you want to be treated.

Help one another when they need help.

When others are not included, include them in your game.

Respect everyone even if they aren’t the same colour or size.

Respect everything and everyone and you will be treated the same.

Everyone needs to have respect for everything.

Everyone has respect – its just about using it.

Written by Toni

My Team

My team
Will have most of the people
Chosen last

Nobody likes being picked last.

Most people always like picking their friends
And never pick other people.

If you’re a chooser its nice
Picking your friends
But try picking a mix of people.

Give them a chance to see how good they really are.
They might be a bit better than you!

Written by Grace

Respect

Respect each other
Respect each peer
Lets just all work together

Respect each bird
Respect each shark
Lets not have them for dinner

Respect the sea
Respect the sky
Let leave them to lie and fly

Respect the face
Respect the feet
Doesn’t matter what they look like

Respect you
Respect me
We are all the same inside.

Respect the old
Respect the young
We all were young and we all will be old

Respect everyone all the same
Doesn’t matter how you look
You will still be treated the same
Don’t waste your day.

Written by Kate

It Hurts

It hurts when someone makes fun of me
Because of the colour of my hair,
It makes it worse when people start to,
Remark the clothes I wear.

It hurts when someone says I can’t play
Because I’m not so good,
My mum says, “Just ignore them”
But I don’t know how I could!

It hurts when people tease me
About the way I hold my pen,
Even though it hurts
I wont worry cause I’ve got friends!

Written by Heidi

Respect

Respect each thunderstorm
Respect each raindrop
Mother Nature makes if fall down with a plop

Respect each animal
Respect each plant
They’re all interesting, whether they’re different or not

Respect each creature
Respect each beast
There are many secrets behind nature’s mist.

Respect each soldier
Respect how they fought
Some survived and some got caught

Respect each river
Respect each pond
Mother Nature spreads her great wonders far and beyond.

Wonders

People say that
There’s peace in the world.
Others say there’s destruction.

How do we know which to believe?
Is one right?
Is the other one right?
Or are they both wrong?

There’s war in the world
War is so big and so long
But actually it all started with a small argument.

The wonder is what do you believe?

Written by David

I Hate

I hate it when people call me
A ‘ginga’ and when people
Blame me for things I didn’t do.

I hate it when Peter slaps me
To wake me up on Saturday mornings,
And when something
Breaks one of my models.

I hate it when people tease me
About my parents being separated.

But mostly I hate it
When Peter calls me an
Alien when I have a cold.

Written by Oliver

Nightmare Team

My team
Will have the people
That don’t play!

My team will not have
Messy or C.S. Ronaldo
Instead it will have
Macca Pacca from “In the Night Garden” and
Jeff from “The Wiggles” at striker’s position.

And in the back it will be
The Terminator (with mini-gun)
Jason Bourne (with hand gun)
James Bond (with silencer)
And Bumblebee off “Transformers”

In the midfield, it will be Upsy-Daisy
From “In the Night Garden” and Dai Wertham,
Master Raindrop and the Tomlyboal off “In the Night Garden”

And goaly will be Dorothy the Dinosaur from
“The Wiggles”
And together,
We’ll lose!

Written by Ben

Respect

Respect everyone
Respect everybody
Because they are somebody

Respect the Earth
Respect the tree
Because it is something

Respect the clouds
Respect the sky
Without it, we could die.

Respect the colours
Respect black
Because I like my back.

Respect the animals
Respect dogs
I like eating hot dogs.

Respect, respect, respect.

Written by James

Nightmare Team

My team
Will have all the people in it
Who are normally picked last.

Such as Jeff from “The Wiggles”
Loser team

When it’s my turn to be Elect
I’ll over look Spongebob Squarepants
And Iggle Piggle from “In the Night Garden”

And I’ll point to Okati Okati from the “Go Show”
Who’ll faint with astonishment.
And delight.

And Bear Grylles from “Man vs Wild”
(With the big nose)

And Tim without his freckles
Cant do anything
I’ll pick him.

And due to the masterly leadership
Shown by the captain, not forgetting
His three out-of-this-world fouls

We’ll lose!
